School Recognitions
- Oakland High’s music teacher, David Byrd, earned the Outstanding Orchestra Educator Award in 2021 and was awarded the 2021 California Casualty Music and Arts Grant
- Oakland High’s graduation rate has increased by 15% since 2015, to 85.1%, which is about 12% higher than the overall district rate. This includes a 28% increase for African American students and 14% increase for Latinx students during the same time.
- Oakland High’s staff is extremely diverse and includes many Oakland High and OUSD alumni, as well as OUSD parents.
