Want to have a FUN & UNIQUE learning experience while catching up on credits?

OUSD’s CAR team is hosting its 4th annual Summer Healing & Academics 4 Kids (HAcK) credit recovery program for current 9^th & 10^th graders (Rising 10th & Rising 11th)

DATES: June 8 – July 2, 2026 (Juneteenth Observed)

HOURS: 8:30am-1:30pm

LOCATION: Life Academy (2101 35^th Ave. Oakland 94601)

SUBJECTS: Algebra 1; Biology; English 1; English 2; Geometry; Physical Education; World History

Summer HAcK participants will…

• Earn up to 12.5 credits (Students pursue 10 credits & can earn an additional 2.5 elective credits through successful participation in Advisory)

• Learn in small Classes (20:1)

• Engage in Hands on, Project Based Learning
• Be supported in the classroom by Oakland Serves Mentors
• Benefit from  A “No Fail” Model (Mastery Based Grading; Weekly progress reports; Weekly family communication by Teacher Advisor; ORIENTATION REQUIRED) 

• Develop SEL skills through Mindfulness & Restorative Peacemaking Circles

• Go on Field Trips & Have FUN!
