Special Features

The Young Adult Program: Has 12 programs; Each program has a teacher and either 2 or 3 general support staff team members. We have three models of instruction for and with students: Site-Based Programs (3 @ Santa Fe School Site) where we focus services and programming for students that are more impacted by their disability. These programs spend anywhere from 20-40% of their time in the community. These programs best serve students with communication, health, or behavioral needs that limit a student’s time accessing community offerings. Our Hybrid Programs (3 @ Santa Fe School Site; one at DeFremery Park Recreation Center) are programs that have a classroom space, but are accessing the community as much as possible for the students in the program. These programs access community settings anywhere from 40-80% of the time. These programs best serve students with communication, health, or behavioral needs that limit a students time accessing community offerings. Our Community Based Programs (2 @ Merritt, 2 @ Laney, 1 @ FM Smith Recreation Center) see students primarily in a community setting and they are in the community for the full-day.
